Tecnovia Madeira provides visit to the Quake Museum

Tecnovia Madeira provided 9th-grade students from the Basic School with Preschool and Nursery of Caniçal, on Madeira Island, Portugal, with an unforgettable educational experience in mainland Portugal — a visit to the Quake Museum – Lisbon Earthquake Centre, a renowned cultural space built by Tecnovia itself.

Contributing to this initiative, Farrobo, a company within the Tecnovia Group, also offered students the opportunity to visit the Lisbon Zoo, located at Praça de Sete Rios, an area recently renovated by Tecnovia S.A.

Quake: Immersion in a Historical Period

The Quake Museum stands out as an innovative space that impressively recreates the experience of the Lisbon earthquake, considered one of the greatest natural disasters in European history.

Tecnovia S.A. takes pride in having been responsible for the construction of this museum, which is notable for its immersive and educational approach. During the visit, students had the chance to learn about November 1st, 1755, and explore the devastating impacts of the earthquake, tsunami, and fires that struck Lisbon and marked a turning point in world history.

The museum recreates the atmosphere of the time, transporting visitors to that historical period and presenting both the hardships endured and the political, scientific, and social transformations that emerged after the catastrophe.

Farrobo Offers Zoo Visit

Farrobo’s collaboration enriched the educational initiative, enabling students to visit the Lisbon Zoo. This complimentary visit allowed students to combine historical learning with an immersion into the world of biodiversity and environmental conservation, thereby promoting an integrated educational experience bridging history and nature.

Tecnovia Invests in Social Responsibility

The field trip is yet another example of Tecnovia’s growing investment in social responsibility initiatives. By providing this experience to the students of the Basic School with Preschool and Nursery of Caniçal, Tecnovia Madeira reaffirms its commitment to actively contributing to the development of the communities where it operates.

This activity is part of a broader program of actions that Tecnovia has been implementing and expanding, solidifying its role as a positive agent of transformation in communities.
