Tecnovia Angola Upgrades Calemba II Connecting Road
Within the scope of Luanda’s Structural Roads Programme, Tecnovia Angola is upgrading the Calemba II Link Road to Avenida Pedro de Castro Van-Dúnem “Loy”.
With a total length of 3.13 km, this project is crucial for improving urban mobility in secondary and tertiary areas of the city of Luanda, ensuring better road access to surrounding neighbourhoods and directly contributing to the quality of life for the population.
Structural interventions and urban impact
The project includes a wide range of interventions, namely the upgrading of the road network, the implementation of effective stormwater drainage systems, the installation of public lighting, and the reinforcement of road and public safety conditions.
These actions improve traffic flow, increase safety levels for road users, and strengthen the infrastructure’s resilience to climatic conditions, contributing to more efficient and sustainable urban mobility.
Current status of the project
The project is in an advanced stage of execution, with the paving works practically complete. The application of the wearing course is underway along the entire length of the road, with a thickness of 5 cm, and approximately 3,360 tonnes of bituminous mixture are planned, ensuring high levels of durability, comfort, and safety for road traffic.
With the execution of this project, Tecnovia Angola reaffirms its commitment to the modernisation of Luanda’s road infrastructure, consistently contributing to urban development and to the creation of solutions that meet the real needs of communities.
