Tecnovia Angola welcomes the Minister for the Environment to the Cabinda Landfill Site
On 14 July 2026, Tecnovia Angola welcomed the Minister of Environment, Ana Paula de Carvalho Pereira, to the Cabinda Conventional Sanitary Landfill, a strategic infrastructure project for the integrated management of municipal solid waste in the province. The project reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainable development and to improving the quality of life of local communities.
As part of the Minister’s official working visit to Cabinda Province, the delegation included the Provincial Governor of Cabinda, Suzana Fernanda Pemba Massiala de Abreu, National Directors, Heads of Department and Consultants from the Ministry of Environment, members of the Provincial Government, representatives of the Supervisory Authority (DAR), and the technical teams involved in the project. During the same mission, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Isaac Francisco Maria dos Anjos, was also in Cabinda, highlighting the institutional importance of the projects under review.
A Sustainable Response to Cabinda’s Environmental Challenges
The primary purpose of the visit was to monitor the progress of Phase 1 of the project, corresponding to the construction of the Cabinda Conventional Sanitary Landfill, while also presenting the integrated vision for Phase 2, which includes the development of the Cabinda Waste Treatment and Recovery Centre.
This next phase will strengthen and complement the province’s waste management system by introducing modern solutions for waste sorting, treatment, recycling and resource recovery, in line with the principles of the circular economy and international environmental best practice.
Progress and Vision for the Future
During the visit, the delegation toured the various areas of the project, closely monitoring both its physical progress and financial implementation. The main components of the facility were presented, including the sorting areas, treatment centre, administrative buildings, landfill cells and supporting infrastructure. Phase 2 will be delivered under a Design & Build contract, further demonstrating Tecnovia Angola’s capability to provide fully integrated engineering solutions.
Commitment to Sustainable Development
The Minister’s visit represents important recognition of the work carried out by Tecnovia Angola. The Cabinda Conventional Sanitary Landfill stands as a landmark investment, creating the conditions for a modern and efficient municipal solid waste management system, contributing to the development of local communities and reinforcing the company’s commitment to a more sustainable future for Angola.
