Tecnovia strengthens its position in the Algarve market

Last July, Tecnovia S.A. began exploiting the Quinta do Escarpão quarry located in Ferreiras, Albufeira, strengthening its position as a producer of aggregates.

Previously exploited by Costa&Costa, this limestone quarry aims to meet the needs of the construction market in the Algarve, increasing Tecnovia’s offering in this region where it also produces bituminous mixtures and ready-mix concrete.

Currently, Tecnovia has more than 20 production centres in mainland Portugal and the Portuguese islands, producing and commercialising construction materials, aggregates, bituminous mixtures and ready-mix concrete, one of the company’s main business areas.

With the addition of the Quinta do Escarpão quarry, Tecnovia estimates it will produce one-million tons of aggregates in 2017, in the south of Portugal alone, where it already has production centres in Évora, Ferreira do Alentejo and Ourique.

The quality of the produced materials is constantly monitored by Tecnovia’s own laboratories, which have all the necessary human and technical resources needed for this purpose, in accordance with the standards in force.

Our quality management systems are NP EN ISO 9001 certified, and our aggregates and bituminous mixtures bear CE marking.

The materials produced by Tecnovia have been used in countless projects throughout the Algarve, such as the A22 Motorway (know as via do Infante), the A2 Motorway, Faro Airport, roads, special structures and civil construction, among many other well-know key infrastructure projects in the Algarve.

Tecnovia intends to remain an active contributor to the economy and the job market in this region of Portugal.
