Tecnovia is proud to have sponsored the +Impact Award at the 3rd Engineering Symposium, held at the University of Beira Interior.

This initiative recognises and rewards undergraduate and master’s final projects that demonstrate the greatest positive impact on civil engineering, considering economic, social, environmental, and technological dimensions.

3rd Engineering Symposium

The Engineering Symposium served as a key platform for sectoral development, promoting the dissemination of academic work completed in 2023 and 2024 by undergraduate and master’s students in Civil Engineering, both within higher education institutions and in collaboration with industry.

The event also encouraged the exchange of experiences, reflection, and discussion among final-year students and recent graduates, fostering interaction between civil engineering schools nationwide and facilitating contact between young talent and companies in the sector. In doing so, it built essential bridges for future collaborations and professional opportunities.

Winner of the +Impact Award

The €800 prize was awarded to Tomás Jorge, whose research stood out for its relevance and transformative potential in the field of rail transport. His dissertation is entitled “Identification of Defects in Rail Freight Vehicles Based on a Wayside System Using an Autoencoder”.
