About a month ago, we published an article on Renascença’s report highlighting the integration of foreign workers at Tecnovia. Today we share an update that once again demonstrates how much we value our employees.
Irineu Andrade, a Cape Verdean mechanic whose testimony featured in the July report, recently returned to his native country. This decision arose from the perfect combination of an operational need for the company in Cape Verde and Irineu’s natural desire to be closer to his family — a harmony only possible when people are placed at the centre of our decisions.
Balancing professional and personal needs
We recall Irineu’s words in the Renascença article, which reflect his spirit: ‘I want to give my children the opportunity that I didn’t have when I was a child.’ It is precisely because we understand this purpose that we strive, whenever possible, to transform operational needs into bridges that bring our employees closer to their loved ones.
When he shared his most vulnerable moments — ‘I thought about giving up everything and leaving,’ recalling the days when he felt his family’s absence most deeply — we knew it was our mission to find solutions that honoured both his professional commitment and his personal needs.

Irineu will return to Portugal as soon as he completes his mission in Cape Verde, bringing with him not only the satisfaction of another challenge overcome, but also the renewed energy of someone who has been reunited with his family.
