Innovation and Sustainability: Tecnovia’s Contribution to MAIREPAV10

Tecnovia participated in the 10th International Conference on Pavement Maintenance and Rehabilitation (MAIREPAV10) from 24 to 26 July, held at the Vila Flor Cultural Centre in Guimarães, Portugal.

This event brought together experts, researchers, government authorities and industry professionals to debate advances and challenges in the field of pavements.

MAIREPAV10’s mission

The MAIREPAV10 conference aimed to promote and discuss the state of the art in pavement design, assessment, maintenance, rehabilitation and management. With a special emphasis on sustainable practices, the event addressed the growing importance of developing solutions that respect the environment and promote the durability of road pavements.

The focus on sustainable solutions is especially relevant given that pavement maintenance and rehabilitation are becoming critical challenges in several countries. MAIREPAV10 provided a valuable space for the exchange of knowledge and innovations between various stakeholders, including researchers, consultants and constructors, with the aim of building a greener and more efficient future.

Tecnovia’s presence

Tecnovia had a stand to present the company and its latest innovations in asphalt mixtures. These innovative mixtures offer a number of significant benefits, such as reduced CO2 emissions, lower energy consumption and greater circularity.

Case Study

One of the highlights of Tecnovia’s participation was the presentation by Pedro Nunes, who presented a case study in collaboration with Iterchimica: “Simultaneous Use of Rejuvenator and Warm Mix Asphalt Chemical Additive to Produce Sustainable Asphalt Pavements: A Case Study in Portugal”.

The study demonstrated the effectiveness of a warm mix asphalt that reduces the CO2 footprint per tonne by an impressive 27%. This impact is equivalent to 245 laps around the planet in terms of carbon emissions.
