Quiluma & Maboqueiro: A new era for the Angolan energy sector, a milestone for Tecnovia Angola
Tecnovia Angola participated in a historic project that represents a milestone for the Angolan energy sector and for the company’s affirmation in the Oil & Gas sector.
The natural gas processing unit of the Quiluma & Maboqueiro project, in the municipality of Soyo, Zaire province, is the first major infrastructure dedicated to non-associated gas in the country, laying the foundations for a more efficient, sustainable and technologically independent production chain.
A strategic infrastructure for Angola
Inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, the country is strengthening its domestic production capacity and consolidating its position as an emerging benchmark in African natural gas production. Tecnovia was represented by Luís Guilherme Canas da Costa, Director of Tecnovia, Ricardo Marfim dos Santos, CEO of Tecnovia Angola, and Nelson Bastos, Project Manager.
The start of operations will increase domestic production, reduce external dependencies and stimulate economic development in the Soyo region, contributing to the creation of skilled jobs and strengthening the country’s energy security.
A highly complex technical and operational challenge
Tecnovia Angola’s participation involved the execution of civil construction infrastructure for the terrestrial system, carried out with high technical rigour and in line with international safety and quality standards.
The project required an integrated approach, constant coordination between teams and strict attention to regulatory compliance. The technical and construction complexity represented an opportunity to consolidate the company’s know-how in this segment.
