Rehabilitation of the Cutelo – Fundura Road under execution by Tecnovia CV

The EM-SLO-20 Cutelo – Fundura Road Rehabilitation contract, carried out by Tecnovia CV, on the island of Santiago, received, on December 21, 2020, the visit of several government entities.

The Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Dr. Ulisses Correia e Silva and the Minister of Infrastructure, Spatial Planning and Housing, Eng. Eunice Silva, together with Eng. José Horácio Varela, executive member from ECV – Estradas de Cabo Verde, visited the work fronts, taking knowledge of the development of the contract in the field.

The visit was accompanied by Eng. Bruno Jeremias, General Director of Tecnovia CV.

With an extension of about 9 km, the works include the total rehabilitation of the Cutelo – Fundura road, including Ponte de Órgãos Cutelo, through the improvement of the design, implementation of a drainage system, construction of retaining walls and the asphalt concrete pavement.

The work started in June 2020, is expected to be completed in July 2021.

Covering the Municipality of São Lourenço dos Órgãos, the contract for the rehabilitation of the Cutelo – Fundura road, will benefit many locations along the route, with an impact on the economy, namely in agriculture, local tourism and livestock farmers.

The improvement in accessibility will facilitate the movement of populations, who will gain convenience, comfort and security in their travel and transportation of materials and goods.
