Tecnovia CV celebrated the inauguration of two major road projects
Tecnovia CV celebrated the inauguration of two major road projects on the island of Santiago, Cape Verde, in the presence of senior officials from the Cape Verdean government. Tecnovia CV was represented by directors Luís Guilherme Costa and Miguel Barreiros.
The ceremonies were attended by the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva, the Ministers for the Economy, the Sea and Infrastructure, and the Chairmen of Estradas de Cabo Verde (ECV) and ICV, who emphasised the strategic importance of these infrastructure projects for the country’s development.
Upgrading of the Fundura–Ribeira da Barca Road
The first project to be inaugurated was the upgrading of the EN3-ST-18 Fundura–Ribeira da Barca road, at a cost of €2.8 million. Spanning 8,202 metres, this project included earthworks, drainage, surfacing, the construction of retaining walls, slope stabilisation and the installation of signage and safety equipment, including guardrails and kerbs along the entire route.
The Prime Minister described the opening as “a project long awaited by the local population”. Ulisses Correia e Silva highlighted the quality of the construction and the direct impact on the lives of local communities: “Now, the movement of people, taxis and goods vehicles is much easier and safer.”
Rehabilitation of the Ribeirão Chiqueiro – Fontes de Almeida – Trindade Road
The second, partial inauguration marked the completion of approximately 4 kilometres of the rehabilitation, improvement and resurfacing of the Ribeirão Chiqueiro – Fontes de Almeida Road, a project carried out by Tecnovia CV for Estradas de Cabo Verde, with a total investment of around 3.8 million euros. The complete project will cover a distance of 13,200 metres.
The project involved rehabilitation, improvement and resurfacing works, contributing to better traffic conditions and mobility, enhanced road safety and improved connectivity between the towns covered. This project also creates better access conditions that promote the economic and social development of local communities, improving the quality of life for the region’s population.
Commitment to the development of Cape Verde
Both projects, carried out for Estradas de Cabo Verde, represent a significant contribution to improving mobility and connectivity on the island of Santiago, reinforcing Tecnovia CV’s role in the development of the country’s road infrastructure.
For Tecnovia CV, participating in these infrastructure projects confirms the company’s commitment to the sustainable development of Cape Verde and to the quality of the infrastructure serving local communities.
