Naval Canal – Estaleiros de Construção e Reparação Naval Lda is a company that acquired by Tecnovia Açores in October 2022. The company represents the persistence of Tecnovia’s commitment to the maritime economy, which began in 2017 with the naval concessions in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
Naval Canal operates in the construction and repair of medium and small vessels, holding the concession for the Madalena do Pico Naval Shipyard (ENMP), located in the Port of Madalena do Pico, in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, for a period of 23 years.
Since its acquisition by Tecnovia Açores, Naval Canal has invested in improving the infrastructure of the Madalena do Pico Naval Shipyard and diversifying its support services for maritime, fishing and recreational boating activities.

The Madalena do Pico Naval Shipyard Decarbonization project, within the scope of PRR financing, will allow for a reduction in GHG emissions of at least 30% due to avoided travel, promoting efficiency and competitiveness through decarbonization, contributing to accelerating the transition to a carbon neutral economy (projetct details in portuguese here).
