Built by Tecnovia Açores, the Azores International Hospital (HIA) comprises a gross construction area of 12,068.00 m².

Awarded to Tecnovia Açores, S.A. in two phases, its construction began in July 2018 and was inaugurated on March 8, 2021.

Divided into three floors, the HIA is equipped with cutting-edge technology and offers around 40 medical specialties. With a distinctive range of services, the completion of this modern hospital unit provides the Autonomous Region of the Azores with:

• 5 operating rooms

• 96 beds and state-of-the-art equipment

• 24/7 Emergency Services for both Adults and Pediatrics

• Maternity services

• Intensive care unit

• Clinical and anatomical pathology laboratories

• Respiratory function, neurophysiological studies, and audiology centers

• Medical imaging services

This hospital also includes:

• Azores Cardiovascular Center

• Laparoscopic Surgery Center

• Azores Urology Center

• Intensive Care and Neurosurgery Units

The Azores International Hospital is the second private hospital built by Tecnovia, which also constructed the Madeira Private Hospital, inaugurated in May 2019 and carried out by Tecnovia Madeira.
