Description

The Contract for the construction of the Portucel paper and chemical factory branch line in Setúbal, was carried out by Technovia S.A. for a value of €1 736 218.35, to create the necessary railway infrastructure for the new Portucel paper factory in Setúbal. Four railway lines were constructed to service the existing paper pulp factory and the shipping platform at the new paper factory, which was under construction. Main work:

• Removal of ballast on the lines to be decommissioned;

• Track decommissioning;

• Earth-moving, drainage and gabion walls;

• Construction of the track structure:

– Ballasted track – 804 m

– Concreted track – 748 m

• Transport, unloading and levelling of ballast

• Laying the line and installing Tg 0.11 AMVs [track switching systems] (3 units);

• Final tamping of the current line and AMVs;

• Supply and Assembly of buffers;

• Final spiking;

• Kilometre and hectometre marks;

• Alumino-thermic soldering;

• Replacement of affected services and other complementary work
