RIO MAIOR
Operated by Tecnovia S.A. since 1987, this industrial centre is located in Quinta da Senhora da Luz, in the municipality of Rio Maior, approximately 4 Km to the West of Rio Maior, on the road connecting to Caldas da Rainha (N114).
The limestone quarry provides the raw material for the production of aggregates suitable for use in different types of architectural, construction and civil engineering work.
The quality management systems at Rio Maior are NP EN ISO 9001 certified, and products have CE marking in compliance with the applicable product standards.

PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
The Vale da Pedreira limestone quarry provides the raw material for a range of aggregates from riprap and gravel, to pit-run gravel, coarse sand and washed sand, for use in architecture, engineering and construction.
The range of available aggregates is predetermined, but other grain sizes can also be produced upon consultation. Performance measurements are provided upon request.

The Rio Maior bituminous mixtures plant produces all types of hot bituminous mixtures, such as traditional mixtures, polymer- or rubber-modified mixtures, mixtures with pigments, fibres or similar additives, and reclaimed bituminous mixtures.
The Rio Maior plant produces a predetermined range of bituminous mixtures, but other mixtures can be produced upon consultation.
Performance measurements for bituminous mixtures are provided upon request.

The Rio Maior laboratory performs several tests on soils, aggregates, concrete, bituminous mixtures and in situ tests in compliance with the testing standards in force in Portugal. It also possesses the skills and resources to carry out performance tests on bituminous mixtures, such as the wheel-tracking test.
The measuring and monitoring equipment is subject to metrological control, and activities are internally and externally audited, within the scope of factory quality and production control certification.
