From 2010 onwards, we have carried out adaptation, remodelling and expansion work at Funchal Central Hospital – the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital (formerly known as the Cruz de Carvalho Hospital) including the construction of new buildings for various services and departments:

• Construction of a building for the hyperbaric chamber

• New Gastroenterology facilities

• Construction of an area for cytostatic drug preparation

• Remodelling the old clinical pathology unit into a haemato-oncology day hospital, pain treatment unit and imagiology service

• Remodelling of the kitchen

• Reinforcing the 3rd level of the multi-storey carpark

• Remodelling the outpatient facility, by adapting one of the multi-storey car park levels
